New MRA Playground Game - Four Square!

K-2 PE Class - The student's continue to practice a variety of MRA Recess rules for a variety of games. The students are practicing the cooperation skills of working with others toward a common goal, including all members in an activity, following the rules, playing safely and under control and listening to instructions.
3rd-6th PE Class - The students finished learning and practicing the MRA Recess rules for Four Square and Wall Ball. They reviewed how to problem solve with each other by following three steps: 1. Stop playing immediately when a foul is played 2. Ask the student referee (the next player in line) to help if the players are in disagreement 3. "Re-do" if the referee doesn't see the infraction. They will be starting their exercise assessments this week.
7th-8th PE Class - One of the Roots and Responsibility Groups helped create a foursquare court on the playground. in PE class, the Cedars collaborated to create the MRA Recess rules for the games of Four Square and Wall Ball. Their focus was to examine which rules help the recess games run smoothly and with little conflict. The students will be starting their exercises assessments this week.
7th-8th Health Class - The students continue to study about self-image and emotions in health class. They brainstormed together how to use self-control when they are feeling a variety of emotions. They finished creating "Emotion Emojis" and displayed them in the hallway of the Wild Woods Building. They are quite creative.
Leaderfit Leadership Groups:
Assembly Team -The assembly team is beginning to plan a "Celebration of Learning Assembly" with Mrs. Blythe on Wednesday, December 12th. We will be recognizing the learning that happens outside and inside the classroom that enriches our curriculum. The following groups will be performing at our assembly: After school drama, After school /Spanish, Leaderfit, Davinci, Photography, Zumba and Tillium class. Please come join us!
Leaderfit Team - The leadership team will be meeting this Thursday, Nov. 15th to plan for school events including Grandparent day for this Friday, Nov. 16th.
Parking Patrol - This fantastic group of ladies have been doing a great job of braving the elements and volunteering their time to help keep students safe and facilitate the cars before school starts every day. Please continue to use patience as they direct the cars. They have a great system down to keep the cars dropping off students efficiently and safely.
